Have you ever found yourself longing for that perfect place where you would feel joy and love, where you would be filled at once with excitement and peace about every moment of your day? Well, you're not alone. If you look around, I'm sure you can point out many who could be called thrill junkies. Some are constantly acquiring things; others are always seeking to push the envelope with physical feats. Even those who are focused on the spiritual do the same thing. They seek out new people and new programs, anything that will titillate them for a while until it, too, fades, and they have to seek out something new.
None of these things are going to take the place of dwelling in the secret place of the Most High. Why? Because at that meeting point in your being of the indwelling Christ and your consciousness, no one else – no other human – can influence you. The wisdom, the understanding, that becomes part of your consciousness while dwelling in this place gives you greater power over worldly problems. Sounds a bit like magic, doesn't it? It may have a greater resemblance to a "golden ticket" for it opens the door for you to see your life differently.
In Metaphysical Minute, I wrote that "Consciousness is the starting point from which your journey always begins. It is the place in which you live at this moment. It is the basis for all that you do and all you experience. It is your understanding of life. It is your understanding of God. Consciousness is what you're seeking and what you leave behind."
The bottom line is that your consciousness is the end result of the lessons you have learned from your experiences, both worldly and spiritual. The end result will lean more toward worldly perspectives or more toward spiritual (not religious) perspectives. Consequently, your interpretation of your life will be filtered accordingly, drawing experiences to you that may be undesirable. Intention will make all the difference.
The more you give intention to see yourself as a spiritual being, a piece of God, having a human experience, you will then view your life experiences without the fears that generally accompany worldly views. You will know that what happens "out there" changes not one scintilla of your value. Negativity will fall away. Spending time in the "secret place of the Most High," connecting with your indwelling Christ, the more confident, the more creative, and the more loving you will become.
