Allow yourself to recognize that it is only through your interaction with Life that you can bring into the Light those parts of yourself that have been standing in your way so you can see which attitudes or beliefs have attracted or made you vulnerable to what is now happening.
People often argue with the idea that you attract experiences into your life. Their argument is usually based on the unfairness of the life circumstances, however, rather than the spiritual intent. If a woman is raped, their argument deals more with their outrage at the circumstances. If a person becomes gravely ill, their argument deals more with the unfairness in terms of this person losing their life or leaving loved ones behind.
If you step back and as a “spiritual being having a human experience,” look at the bad things, you will realize that your vibration—the sum total of your thoughts and feelings about yourself or your belief system—has drawn to you circumstances that support your dominant vibration. This is the only way most of us will ever willingly confront and work through these parts of ourselves that are holding us back.
So, is life fair when bad things happen to you? Absolutely—even though it can be pretty painful sometimes. It is fair because it is giving you the opportunity to change and reach for a better life. Do we always utilize these events to our spiritual advantage? No. Sometimes never. This is the difference in spiritual terms between being asleep and waking up.
